FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: water-based coating composition comprising: (A) a resin phase comprising (i) organic oil, (ii) a polymer with, at least, partially neutralized acidic functional groups containing reactive functional groups, (iii) a phenol compound and formaldehyde or the product of their reaction; the resin phase being dispersed in (B) an aqueous medium. Component (i) is present in the amount of 10 to 30 wt %, component (ii) is present in the amount of 20 to 35 wt %, component (iii) is present in the amount of 15 to 60 wt %; and the mass amounts are based on the weight of solid resin in the coating composition. A coated product is also described.
EFFECT: composition with a low level of volatile organic compounds was produced.
