FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes manufacture of a tubular blank with nominal outer diameter equal to outer diameter of tee-piece, and length greater than length of the tee-piece, ovalisation of the blank with subsequent longitudinal squeezing, heating the blank to 800÷1000°C, transverse squeezing with preliminary forming of branch without disturbance of continuity of the blank surface, cutting a hole in preliminarily formed branch, repeated heating of blank to temperature of 800÷1000°C and final transverse squeezing with simultaneous flanging of the branch by a punch at the temperature not below than 700°C. Branch flanging can be performed by the puncheon installed on the supporting surface. The version of the method provides for manufacture of cylindrical shell by bending a blank of rectangular shape and making longitudinal weld joint.
EFFECT: obtaining uniform thickness over the whole perimeter of the branch of the tee-piece, maximum height of the branch, increase of productivity and reduction of power consumption.
