FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: according to the method at the moment of short circuit, the voltage is measured on the buses of the traction substation, the current of the supply line of the contact network section with a short circuit, the phase angle, the value of the inductive impedance of the short-circuit loop is calculated and compared with the pre-calculated values with a specified step of the inductive impedances of the short-circuit places on all section paths. The location of the fault is judged by taking the location for which the measured inductive impedance of the short-circuit loop is the same as that calculated one as a location of short-circuit. Preliminarily inside the section, the parallel connection of the contact network is eliminated by installing additional sectional insulators and loops providing a single path of short circuit current sequentially along each path of the station section to the short-circuit point.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of definition of a short circuit location in a traction network of a multi-path section.
