SUBSTANCE: roll support (10) with roll barrel (25) and at least one neck (20) roll has a roll chock (60) with receiving opening for receiving the neck (20), wherein the inner diameter of the receiving opening is large as compared with the outer diameter of the roll neck (20) to form an annular gap (35) between the roll chock (60) and the roll neck (20) for receiving lubricant (31), a first throttle element (70) which is arranged without the possibility for turning on the end side of the roll chock receiving opening which is turned to the roll barrel for sealing the annular gap present therein, and a second throttle element (71) which is located without the possibility of turning on the end side of the roll chock receiving opening remote from the roll barrel for sealing the annular gap provided therein (35). The first and second throttle elements (70,71) are arranged so in order to form an angular locking area (52, α) for lubricant (31) in the annular gap (35) in such a way that the angular locking area (52, α) at the angular position section corresponding to the smallest annular gap h_min under load between the roll neck (20) and the roll chock (60) extends through an angle (α) at least 25° to maximum 270° from point (A) of support load application in a direction opposite to the direction (11) of roll rotation (10).

EFFECT: increased adjustment flexibility of load-bearing force of the roll support.
