FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: values of wave exhibitor (n) is defined for the suspension of microorganisms in two dispersion media with different refraction indices. On the basis of the obtained values the refraction index of bacteria (μb) and mid-radius (Rcp) of microbial bodies is calculated for this strain of microorganisms in the specific conditions. Then, applying the asymptotic approximation, the light diffusion coefficient (Ks) is found, using which the measured the optical density of the suspension is determined by the concentration of microorganisms (N).

EFFECT: invention can be used to determine the concentration of microbial cells in the suspension in microbiological studies and biotechnology industry.
