FIELD: machine engineering.

SUBSTANCE: in a packed scrubber containing a body with branch pipes for dust-laden and cleaned gas, a spraying device, supporting grids between which a nozzle is located, and a device for slime withdrawal, the packing is made in the form of a toroidal shape having a circle in section with blind recesses made relatively to the diametric axis of the cross-section on one side and on the other side. The recesses are formed by toroidal surfaces congruent to the main toroidal surface having a circle in section. The cross-sectional areas of the recesses have an elongated shape in the direction, parallel to the torus axis, at that, the recess on one side is located between two adjacent recesses made on the other side of the torus cross-section.

EFFECT: increased efficiency and reliability of dust collection process, reduction of metal capacity and vibroacoustic activity of the device as a whole.
