SUBSTANCE: user control of the optical states of the optically switched devices is performed, implemented through an application representing a user interface to a device remote from the network, through which the optically switched device is connected, obtaining a new rule based on the user control history data through the application and issuing a warning signal through the application, which prompts through the user interface that a new rule has been adopted. In another embodiment, in which the optically switchable device is located in a structure and connected to a network, the response of the structure to changes in heating, cooling or lighting provided to this structure is controlled, new rules are obtained based on the response history control data of the said structure, and a warning signal is output by the application that prompts through the user interface that the user has accepted the new rule.

EFFECT: enabling users to send or receive data or instructions for controlling switchable optical products, as well as user changes to the rule or feature associated with controlling the switchable optical product.
