FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for the preparation of cyclopentenecarbonate by the reaction of catalytic carboxylation of 1,2-epoxycyclopentane under a constant pressure of carbon dioxide of 1.0-4.5 MPa and a temperature of 110-160°C, a binary catalyst system consisting of quaternary ammonium salt-TEAB or TBAB and crystalline hydrate of chloride, Co or Ni bromide with a molar ratio of metal halide/quaternary ammonium salt (0.125-2)/1, is used as a catalyst for 1.5-4.0 hours. During this time, selectivity to cyclopentenecarbonate is achieved not lower than 98-99% with almost complete conversion of epoxide. An additional distinctive feature of the known ones is the possibility of carrying out the reaction in the presence of a solvent, which uses the desired cyclopentenecarbonate, N,N-dimethylformamide, N,N-dimethylacetamide, N-methylpyrrolidone, wherein the mass fraction of 1,2-epoxycyclopentane in the starting mixture of 10-80%.
EFFECT: reducing the reaction time without reducing the yield of the desired product.
