FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes sorption of platinum (II, IV), copper (II), and zinc (II) and subsequent desorption of these ions from solutions. The sorption is carried out under static conditions by saturating the ion exchanger with the solution for 6 hours. At the same time, the transition of platinum (II, IV) and iron (III) into the ion exchanger phase occurs. Desorption of copper and zinc is carried out with 0.5 M solution of HNO3 for 6 hours at a temperature of 18°C, desorption of platinum is carried out with a solution of thiourea for 6 hours at a temperature of 18°C. Copper, zinc, and platinum are desorbed at different stages.
EFFECT: practically complete separating platinum from copper and zinc in one cycle of sorption-desorption in hydrochloric acid solutions, increasing the extraction of metal ions, reducing the laboriousness of the separation process.
