FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: cylinder-piston group of the internal combustion engine comprises a cylinder liner (1) and a piston (2) mounted therein with a hole (3) for the piston pin, which axis is perpendicular to the cylinder axis. The cylinder liner (1) and the piston (2) are made of a metal-ceramic matrix composite material based on nano-structure dispersed-strengthened chemically-sintered silicon carbide. The cylinder liner (1) has a gradient structure with reduction of silicon carbide content along the cylinder length. From the combustion chamber side, from the cylinder end, in the section which length is about 0.4 of cylinder height, the content of components, wt %: silicon carbide (SiC) - 75-93, silicon nitride (Si3N4) - 6.5-20, carbon - 0.5-5. On the remaining portion up to the end of the cylinder opposite the combustion chamber, the content of the components, wt %: silicon carbide (SiC) 47-75, silicon nitride (Si3N4) - 20-43, carbon - 5-10. The piston (2) is reinforced by not less than four core-free fibres (4) of silicon carbide (SiC) with thickness of 88-95 mcm, which are evenly arranged over the circumference and parallel to the hole (3) axis for the piston pin at a distance (1.3-1.7) diameter of the hole from the axis of the latter. The content in piston (2) components, wt %: silicon carbide (SiC) - 80-93, silicon nitride (Si3N4) - 18-6.5, carbon - 2-0.5.
EFFECT: elimination of piston rings structure by providing constant thermal gap between the cylinder liner and the piston, increased reliability due to elimination of cylinder liner and piston deformation in the working process.
