SUBSTANCE: method includes obtaining, for each display unit, a half-tone value of the corresponding pixels in the image to be displayed in the display unit, where the screen includes, at least, one display unit; obtaining a minimum value from a predetermined number of maximum half-tone values according to the half-tone values of the corresponding pixels; and if the minimum value reaches a threshold half-tone value, controlling the half-tone values of the corresponding pixels in such a way that they are constant, and also controlling the backlight illumination of the display unit, with the ability to maintain maximum backlight illumination.

EFFECT: invention allows to eliminate or reduce the loss of contrast, to improve the quality of images.
