SUBSTANCE: activating device (10) activates a downhole tool and comprises an upper sub (12), a lower sub (14), an outer coupling (16) with a slot (18) and an inner coupling (20) with a slot (22). The device (10) is made by changing configuration between configuration of running into well in which the slots (18, 22) are not aligned, and an activated configuration in which the slots (18, 22) are aligned and provide transverse passage of fluid through the device (10). In this case the activating device being (10) is designed so that application of at least two forces to the activating device (10) translates the activating device (10) from the running into the well configuration to the activated configuration.
EFFECT: increase the efficiency of the downhole device.
