SCREENING DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR SCOLITICAL DEFORMATION Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61B5/103 G03B19/00

Abstract RU 2638644 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for screening examination using mobile computer equipment provided with an accelerometer and a photo/video camera, and then comparing the obtained data with the normal values of the coresponding indicators, taking into account the patient's age and history. Scoliosis is diagnosed when determining abnormalities. For that end, digital pictures of the patient in the frontal plane are performed in the forward folding position. The pictures are taken from the position on the head side and on the back side, a photo/video camera is arranged with the help of the internal accelerometer of the mobile computer equipment in relation to the patient. A computer is used to carry out a quantitative analysis and evaluation of the asymmetry of the right and left halves of the body at different levels of the spine, where this asymmetry is revealed. For that end, the patient's body is automatically recognized with an estimate of the cross-sectional area and the length of the perpendiculars from the maximum protruding part of the body surface to the horizon line at each level of photo/video shooting. An estimate of the inclination angle of the straight lines drawn from the maximum protruding points of the right and left halves of the body to the spinous processes of the spine to the horizon line at this level, an estimate of the inclination angle of the straight line drawn through the maximum protruding points of the right and left halves of the body to the horizon line are carried out. The setting of the reference values of the body parameters is performed manually or automatically. The received data is documented or archived in electronic form. Body images are performed using a smartphone or a tablet computer, software image processing is performed by an application on the same device. It is possible to take pictures on a contrast and/or marked background.

EFFECT: simple screening for the presence of scoliotic deformation, qualitative and quantitative documentation of the obtained data with the possibility of comparison with the results of other methods of studying this pathology, monitoring the patient's condition are provided.
