Wherein the parameter of the environment in which the flower pot is located includes at least one of: the pollution index of the environment in which the flower pot is located; the ventilation index of the environment in which the flower pot is located; and the water quality parameter in the flower pot; and recommendations are provided for the flower pot by the plant variety suitable for the environment parameter. A device for cultivating a plant variety, taking into account the environment parameter, comprises a sensor configured to determine the flower pot environment parameter; and a recommendation module configured to provide a flower pot with a recommendation by the plant variety corresponding to the environment parameter determined by the first determination module. The device additionally comprises a determination module configured to determine the geographical location of the flower pot and to determine a temperature change schedule corresponding to the geographic location; and the recommendation module is also configured to provide the flower pot with a recommendation by the plant variety corresponding to the temperature change schedule determined by the determination module. The device for use while providing a recommendation by a plant variety comprises a processor and a memory for storing commands executed by the processor; wherein the processor is configured to carry out the method according to claim 1.
