SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the joint method of producing acetic acid, including the following stages: (I) feeding synthesis gas and dimethyl ether in the reaction zone of the carbonylation and interaction of synthesis gas and dimethyl ether in it in the presence of a carbonylation catalyst, to obtain a gaseous reaction product of the carbonylation involving methyl acetate and synthesis gas enriched in hydrogen, (II) diverting the reaction product from the carbonylation reaction zone of the carbonylation and extracting a liquid stream enriched in methyl acetate and synthesis gas, (III) feeding at least part of synthesis gas recovered from the reaction zone of the carbonylation zone in the synthesis of methanol and contacting it with a methanol synthesis catalyst, to obtain the product of methanol synthesis containing methanol and unconverted synthesis gas, (IV) diverting the product for the methanol synthesis from the methanol synthesis zone and the extracting the liquid stream enriched in methanol and synthesis gas, (V) feeding at least a part of liquid stream enriched in methyl acetate and at least a part of the liquid stream enriched in methanol into the reaction zone of dehydration-hydrolysis and contacting methanol and methyl acetate therein with at least one catalyst active in methanol dehydration and methyl acetate hydrolysis, to obtain the product of the dehydration-hydrolysis reaction containing acetic acid and dimethyl ether, (VI) extracting the stream enriched in acetic acid and the stream enriched in dimethyl ether from the reaction product of the dehydration-hydrolysis.
EFFECT: method allows to overcome the shortcomings of the prior art of the acetic acid production.
