FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: before the hot oil is poured, the tank is preheated to a temperature of approximately +40°C, and immediately after pouring, the oil located in the lower half of the tank of the tank is forced to cool until its density becomes 3-5% higher than oil product density in upper half of the tank. In this case, the entire mass of the oil product will have temperature greater than +80°C. In the obtained hydrodynamically stable state, the convective heat transfer in the liquid hot oil is avoided during its transportation, and its cooling will only be caused by molecular thermal conductivity which is very low in all oil products. The railway tank for transporting viscous oil products includes a cylindrical boiler mounted horizontally on transportation trucks with the upper filling hatch, a lower drain branch pipe and a steam-heating jacket rigidly fixed on the lower half of the tank, a layer of heat-insulating material having a thickness of from 6 cm to 10 cm is additionally covered with a layer of heat-insulating material above the steam-heating jacket.
EFFECT: accelerated unloading in cold season and reduced heat energy consumption for this operation.
