FIELD: oil industry.
SUBSTANCE: method of transportation of viscous petroleum products, such as fuel oil, includes pouring them into the tank at a temperature exceeding plus 250 °C, and differs in that the oil is cooled in the lower part of its boiler to a temperature of plus 100 °C, in the upper part of the boiler its temperature remains the same. Density of the oil in the lower part of the boiler becomes greater than in the upper part by 17 %. Hot oil product is transported, being in a hydrodynamically stable, stratified state, in the absence of natural convection, which sharply reduces the rate of its cooling. Only a small part of the oil product passes into the highly viscous state, near the walls of the tank boiler, with a total weight of about six tons. At the same time, up to sixty tons of oil products retains high temperature and fluidity. Erosion of the frozen layer when unloading oil requires less time and less cost of thermal energy. Railway tank for the transport of viscous petroleum products differs in that inside the steam-heating casing there is a zigzag-shaped partition separating the boiler wall of the tank from the external wall of the steam-heating casing, when the hot oil product is poured into the tank, the casing is filled with water. At oil product temperature exceeding plus 250 °C, in the housing there are processes of evaporation and condensation of water, characteristic of thermosyphon. They cause cooling of the lower part of the boiler of the tank with the transfer of the poured oil product into a stratified state. At the bottom of the boiler is installed a short adapter pipe to which the drain pipe is attached. Inside the transition pipe is placed a vessel with heat-absorbing material, which provides cooling of the poured oil product to a temperature of plus 60 °C.
EFFECT: cooled oil in the transition tube isolates the rubber sealing ring of the drain pipe from the hot oil in the tank boiler.
