FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method of applying a thermal protection coating on the outer surface of the preform fabrication includes a cover, the inner surface dimensions of which match the dimensions of the outer surface of the body. Application is performed by putting a donning cover on the product, and impregnating it with the binder and sealing the heat-protective coating with the ensuing polymerization. Case is seamless and its length exceeds the length of the article on the process over-measure. The ends of the cover are fixed and locked around the perimeter with the help of clamping rings. Clamping rings are pushed to shape the envelope with subsequent fixation and centered with the casework axis. Then the ring with cover, facing the flat end of a product, is pulled over the outer surface of the body until the act of putting cover on the product is completed.

EFFECT: invention improves the technological aspects of thermal barrier coating application on the outer surface of the large-sized caseworks.
