SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopedics, and can be used for preoperative preparation of a patient for surgical correction of extra-articular deformities of the femur and tibia in the sagittal plane. On the radiograph of the bone in the lateral projection, the mechanical axis of the proximal fragment and the mechanical axis of the distal fragment are constructed, while the intersection point of these axes is the vertex of the deformation, for planning surgical correction of the deformation, an osteotomy of the bone is virtually performed at the vertex of the deformation and the distal fragment is moved so that the mechanical axis of the proximal fragment and the mechanical axis of the distal fragment are located coaxially, and before the stage of virtual osteotomy of the bone.
