FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: slip ring of an end seal is made by the method of spark-plasma sintering of a composite powder material based on titanium, silicon carbide and graphite, including the preparation of a powder mixture in a ratio of its components: 50 wt % Ti, 35 wt % SiC, 15 wt % C, preliminary mechanoactivation of the powder mixture in a planetary mill in intermittent operation for 180 min at a drum rotation frequency of 240-280 rpm, performing a plasma spark-sintering process of a powder mixture under vacuum at a temperature of 1300-1400°C, a pressure of 15-25 MPa and holding for 3-10 minutes.

EFFECT: improved surface quality of the slip ring of the end seal.
