SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to the method for diagnosing Alzheimer's disease or moderate cognitive impairment (MCI) in a subject and a kit for performing the said diagnosis. The present method involves determining the level of, at least, one microRNA selected from the group consisting of miR-15b, miR-191, miR-142-3p, Let-7g, Let-7d, and combinations thereof in a blood sample, plasma or serum, taken from the subject. The level deviation of the said, at least, one microRNA from the level in a healthy subject, determined with respect to the appropriate control, indicates that the subject suffers from the Alzheimer's or MCI disease. The diagnostic kit includes two or more agents that selectively detect the presence of, at least, two microRNAs selected from the group consisting of miR-191, miR-15b, miR-142-3p, Let-7g, Let-7d, miR-301a, and MiR-545 in the sample.

EFFECT: increasing the diagnosis accuracy of the Alzheimer's and MCI disease in a subject.
