SUBSTANCE: irradiating the monitored area with coherent microwave radiation at N frequencies, recording a signal carrying information about a hidden object located in the monitored space area by means of one or more parallel registration channels and coherent processing of the registered signal, the registration of the signal carrying information about the hidden object located in the monitored space area is carried out after the signal passes through this area, then the dependence of the given function on x - coordinate axially connecting the logger and the source of microwave radiation is determined, the value of xmax is determined, at which the function F has a maximum value Fmax, F0 - threshold value is set, and with Fmax the presence of a conducting object is ascertained in the monitored space area, with Fmax>F0 and xmax>xthreshold, where xthreshold - the established minimum value of the object size, the presence of a dielectric object is ascertained in the controlled space area, and with Fmax>F0 and xmax<xthreshold absence of objects in the monitored space area is ascertained.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy and reliability of the results of remote detection of hidden objects, as well as the ability to perform screening of the target in the absence of sufficient illumination of the monitored area.
