FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: power transmitter (101) transmits power to the power receiver (105) using a wireless power signal. The power transmitter (101) comprises an inductance coil (103) driven by the power signal generator (201) to provide a power signal. The calibration controller (211) determines, whether a power loss calibration is performed for a pair of the power transmitter (101) and the power receiver (105). The calibration adapts the expected relationship between the indication of the received power provided by the power receiver (105) and the indication of the transmitted power for the power transmitter (101). The power limiter (205) limits the power provided to the inductor in order not to exceed the threshold value until the power loss for the pair is calibrated. The expected ratio can be used to detect unaccounted power losses, for example, due to the presence of foreign objects.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of detecting the power losses at higher power levels.
