FIELD: electrical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the electrical equipment. Device (101) for transmitting power for a wireless power transmission system comprises coil (103) of a transmitting device, and control signal generator (201) generates excitation signal for coil (103) of transmitting device using repeating time frame with time interval of power transmission and time interval of detection of foreign objects. Test generator (211) generates test excitation signal for test coil (209) during foreign object detection time interval. Detector (207) of foreign objects performs a test for detecting foreign objects based on the measured parameter for the test excitation signal. Prior to switching to power transmission phase, adapter (213) controls power transmission device (101) such that it operates in initialisation mode of detecting foreign objects, wherein the preferable signal parameter value for the test excitation signal is determined in response to at least the first message received from the power reception device (105). During the time interval of detection of foreign objects, the signal parameter is set equal to the preferable value.

EFFECT: technical result consists in providing higher accuracy and/or reliability of tests for detecting foreign objects during power transmission phase.
