FIELD: ventilation.
SUBSTANCE: device for wet cleaning of polluted air from toxic gases can be used to purify air from harmful emissions during production, manufacture and processing of bulk materials, in particular for air purification from phenol during production, packaging and processing of phenol-containing polymers. The catcher contains a body of a contact tank of a cylindrical shape with a lower part of a cone shape, partially filled with liquid to form an air gap between the ceiling of the tank and a liquid surface, an inlet nozzle for introducing polluted air, a separator with an outlet nozzle for clean air, and a drain nozzle at the bottom of the contact tank. A grating is placed in the horizontal plane between the cylindrical and cone shaped parts of the contact tank body. Above the contact tank there is a spray chamber with rows of injectors fed through the collector with liquid from the contact tank by means of a circulation pump. Above the injectors there is the separator with the outlet nozzle for clean air. On the upper part of the contact tank between the inlet nozzle and the body of the spray chamber there is a hollow rotating body with blades installed vertically eccentrically with immersion in the upper part of the liquid. A heating element is placed in the cavity of the rotating body, and in the area of the air gap the rotating body is made with an air-insulated covering. As a liquid, either an aqueous solution of slaked lime or an oily aqueous solution of caustic potassium or sodium is used.
EFFECT: simplifying the design, increasing the efficiency of air purification from the premises, ensuring the prompt collection of phenol and its further use in the form of phenolates.
