METHOD FOR EPILEPSIA DIAGNOSTICS AND DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61B5/11

Abstract RU 2640138 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: motor activity of the patient's limbs is interpreted during sleep, according to the frequency, amplitude and duration of the signal period measured and recorded by the device including an accelerometer sensor (AMS) mounted on the patient's ankles and/or wrists with at least three measuring spatial axes. The phase with epilepsia characteristic motor activity (ECMA) of the patient's limbs is preceded by a sleep phase without motor activity (conditionally "zero"). The ECMA phase consists of four consecutive periods: 1 is the period of ECMA inception, determined by the presence of oscillations with a frequency of no more than 0.25 Hz, amplitude (peak-to-peak amplitude) to ±23% of the "zero phase" along at least one of the spatial axes of the AMS measurement, period duration is max. 30 seconds; 2 is the period of ECMA development, determined by the presence of oscillations with a frequency of 0.25÷3 Hz, signal amplitude to ±90% of the "zero phase" along at least one of the AMS measurement axes, duration is max. 20 seconds; 3 is the period of ECMA decay, determined by the presence of oscillations with a frequency of 3÷5 Hz, signal amplitude to ±5% of the "zero phase" signal along at least one of the AMS measurement axes, duration is max. 15 seconds; 4 is the period of ECMA termination, determined by the presence of oscillations with a frequency of 0.05÷0.2 Hz, practically without changes in the signal amplitude, characteristic for the third period, duration is not less than 60 seconds.

EFFECT: method provides an effective diagnosis of epilepsia and paroxysmal conditions.
