FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurology, and can be used to predict the unfavorable course of epilepsy in children in the first year of life. A study of the child's blood serum is carried out. In children with epilepsy at the age of 3 and 6 months, the level of antibodies to myelin basic protein and antibodies to myelin-associated glycoprotein is determined in the blood serum. At concentrations of antibodies to myelin basic protein of 4.9 conventional units of optical density (c.u.o.d.) and above, and antibodies to myelin-associated glycoprotein of 1024.1 pg/ml and above, an unfavorable course of epilepsy in children in the first year of life is predicted.
EFFECT: method enables accurate and reliable prediction of unfavorable course of epilepsy in children in the first year of life by determining the level of antibodies to myelin basic protein and antibodies to myelin-associated glycoprotein in the blood.
