FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: device consists of two components located on objects distant from each other. The device on the first object contains two event timers with optical pulses receivers connected thereto, both event timers are connected to a generator forming the timescale for this object, and they are connected to a computer connected to an information transfer system (for example, Ethernet, wireless LAN, etc.). The optical pulse generator is connected to the input of the fiber splitter, with one splitter output connected to the input of the first optical pulses receiver, the second one is connected to the fiber optic circulator input-output. The second optical pulses receiver is connected to the second input- output of the fiber optic circulator and the second event timer. The third input-output of the circulator is connected by an optical fiber link to the second object. The second object also includes an event timer with an optical pulses receiver, an object timescale generator and an information transfer system attached thereto. The optical pulses receiver of this object is connected to an optical fiber link between objects via a semi-transparent mirror. The feature and advantage of the device is that the delay time in the fiber optic link is algorithmically eliminated in determination of the timescales divergence; and also that optical and not electric pulses are referenced to the corresponding timescales by means of a splitter, which excludes the influence of errors in the timescale - optical pulse channel; as well as the that single-step event timers or time-interval meters are applied due to the use of two optical pulses receivers at an object on which the optical pulses generator is located.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of comparison or synchronization through the use of signals in the optical range and direct optical pulses referencing to timescales, increased reliability and efficiency through the use of a fiber optic link, ability to compare and synchronize timescales using only one optical fiber of an arbitrary length leased from operators of public communication networks, possibility of using one-stop event timers or time-interval meters, and reduced permissible distance between objects.
