SUBSTANCE: device to control cross-domain resource selection in the networks of high-performance peripheral component interconnection (PCIe), which includes many PCIe domains, each of which is controlled by a communication processor and connected with one or more other domains through an opaque bridge (NTB), contains memory, a control processor associated with memory, and a control processor configured to receive information about available resources of the domains, reported by the communication processor of each domain, wherein information about available resources includes a memory address reported for each available resource; to save the received information about available resources in memory; to receive a resource request from the requesting processor of one of the domains; in response to a request for a resource, to select the resource from the available resources to the requesting processor, wherein the selected resource is in a domain other than the domain with the requesting processor; to obtain information about the memory address of the selected resource from memory; to instruct one or more processors to program one or more cross-domain NTB, through which the traffic between the selected resource and the requesting processor is directed in accordance with information about the memory address of the selected resource to enable the cross-domain access to a resource between the requesting processor and the selected resource.
