FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for obtaining an isothiazol derivative represented by the general formula (3), wherein R is a cyano group, a carboxy group or an alkoxycarbonyl group; and X represents a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom, a bromine atom or an iodine atom. The method is carried out by heating a nitrile compound represented by the general formula (1) and sulfur. The reaction is then carried out between the nitrile compound represented by the general formula (1), sulfur and halogen represented by the general formula (2), where R and X are as defined above. The nitrile compound and sulfur are heated to a temperature in the range of 70 to 180°C. The reaction between the nitrile compound represented by the general formula (1), sulfur and halogen represented by the general formula (2) is carried out by charging the nitrile compound and sulfur and then halogen is introduced.
EFFECT: providing a safe industrial manufacturing process by eliminating the simultaneous use of an aprotic polar solvent such as N,N-dimethylformamide, and chlorine.
