FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: plastic deformation of welded parts by compression is carried out by applying loads to the welded parts in a plane perpendicular to the plane of their physical contact. The rate of compression deformation is periodically reduced by reducing said load. During the period of compression deformation rate reduction, the load to the welded parts is applied in plane that is parallel to the plane of welded parts physical contact, and shear deformation is carried out.
EFFECT: method prevents formation of cavities between microprojections by reducing metal resistance to plastic deformation.
