FIELD: electric arc welding.
SUBSTANCE: used for repair electric arc surfacing of cast iron products. The surface of the product to be welded is forged with an indenter of diameter D, while measuring the diameter of the indentation (sump) d. Using the formula h calculate the depth of the occurrence of residual compressive stresses, taking into account the maximum permissible arc burning time taking into account the thermal diffusivity coefficient of cast iron. Surfacing the product is carried out. If it is necessary to increase the volume of deposited metal until the defect is completely eliminated, the forging and surfacing operations are repeated in previously determined modes. After surfacing each layer, it is cooled to a temperature of less than 60°C and forge the deposited metal.
EFFECT: prevention of crack formation in the heat-affected zone without preheating the product.
