FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises discharging of the lithium-sulfur element, completing the discharge when the element voltage reaches a discharge threshold voltage that is in the range of 1.5 to 2.1 V, charging the lithium-sulfur element and completing charge when the element voltage reaches the charge threshold voltage, which is in the range of 2.3 to 2.4 V. As a result of these cycling modes, the lithium-sulfur element is not fully charged at the charge threshold voltage, and the lithium-sulfur element is not completely discharged at the discharge threshold voltage, which enables repeated cycling of the element for a long time without an increase in the internal resistance of the element.
EFFECT: increase the service life and reduce the rate of reduction of the capacity of the element.
