SUBSTANCE: computing system is proposed that determines, based on the location history, the content browsing location associated with the user of the mobile computing device and identifies the media output device located at the content browsing location. In response to determining that the mobile computing device is in the content browsing location and close to the media output device at the current time, the computing system determines, based on the plurality of characteristics of the media output device, various recommendations regarding the media to the user at the current time. The plurality of characteristics includes an indication of whether the media output device is running at the current time. The computing system displays, for transmission to the mobile computing device, indications of various recommendations regarding the media.
EFFECT: ability to automatically provide recommendations regarding the media to the user of the mobile computing device, when the computing system detects that the user is in a location where recommendations regarding the media is likely to be of interest to the user.
