SUBSTANCE: double flexible optic scheme comprises of: a flexible substrate holding a plurality of optical fibers; the first connector terminating the optical fibers at the first end of the double flexible optic scheme and the second connector terminating the optical fibers at the second end of the double flexible optic scheme. Each of the optical fibers is arranged in one of a plurality of separate protrusions formed by the flexible substrate when the optical fibers extend from the first connector to the second one. The first and second connectors are adapted for testing when they are connected via a double flexible optic scheme. This double optic scheme is capable of dividing into halves after the completion of testing to obtain two separate flexible optic schemes. The method for assembling a flexible optic scheme comprises pf the steps of: placing a plurality of tips in a latch, placing a flexible optic scheme in the latch so that the optical fibers of this flexible optic scheme pass through the tips, curing and spreading the optical fibers, polishing the tips, and removing the flexible optic scheme from the latch.
EFFECT: optimisation of the permissible limits of bending radius and cartridge configuration requirements.
