SUBSTANCE: injector has a body (2, 3) of the injector, a cover (4) and a detachable cartridge holder (1). The cartridge holder (1) has a longitudinal axis and comprises a cartridge receiving body (5). The cartridge receiving body (5) comprises an engaging means (8) at the proximal end (6) for releasable connection of the cartridge holder (1) to the injector body (2, 3). The body (5) also comprises a locking element (11) for releasable engagement of the cover (4) and an alignment element (11; 14) that is visually accessible from the outside of the body (5) for cartridge reception. The injector body (2, 3) is provided with an engaging means for releasable connection of the cartridge holder (1) to the injector body (2, 3) and the alignment element (12). The alignment element (12) faces the element (11; 14) for alignment of the body (5) for cartridge reception, if the cartridge holder (1) is completely secured to the injector body (2, 3) using the engaging means (8). The alignment element is a protrusion (11) forming a locking element. The protrusion (11) has an oblique outer surface. The height of the protrusion (11) increases in the direction of the longitudinal axis from the distal end (7) to the proximal end (6). The locking element (11) entering the detachable engagement with the cover (4) is an alignment element. The alignment element (11) for the cartridge reception body is formed on the outer surface of the body (5) for cartridge reception. The injector body alignment element (12) is provided on the outer surface of the injector body (2, 3).
