FIELD: automotive engineering.
SUBSTANCE: methods and systems of engine operation with capacitive humidity detectors are presented. In one embodiment, the control of changes in the pressure and humidity detector is performed with simultaneous sending gases to the engine air intake downstream of the humidity detector and upstream of the compressor, in the event that the controlled changes in the pressure and humidity detector are less than the corresponding threshold values. The intrusive pressure adjustment is performed in the air intake and the performance degradation of the humidity sensor operation is indicated when the humidity readings change by an amount that is less than the first threshold the value and the pressure on the detector changes by an amount that is greater than the second threshold value.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of the humidity detector.
