SUBSTANCE: invention relates to internal combustion engine. Engine control method, which comprises the step of deactivating the EGR flow in response to the fact that the impact of hydrocarbons of the PCV stream onto the output signal of the oxygen sensor on the inlet increases above the threshold value when the purge flow is deactivated. Effect of hydrocarbons of the PCV flow is based on the difference between the first EGR flow estimate based on the outlet oxygen sensor signal and on the second EGR flow estimate based on the output of the DPOV sensor when the EGR flows.
EFFECT: measurement accuracy of the sensor is increased.
