FIELD: rescue facilities.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of rescue equipment – to the method of carrying out search and rescue operations using a search and rescue beacon. When implementing the search and rescue method, search and rescue beacons are placed in the search area at a predetermined distance from one another, put them into operation by a switch for the periodic issuance of light and / or audible warning signals and for the radio signal regular transmission to the rescue center, where the location of each of the beacons is recorded and the disappearance of the radio signal from a particular beacon is indicated, indicating that this beacon is forcibly turned off, after which a message is transmitted from the rescue center to the rescuers in the search area indicating the location of the beacon, which is indicated as switched off.
EFFECT: technical result consists in expanding the arsenal of technical means of search and rescue operations in large areas under difficult weather conditions and a reduction in the time of information reception by rescuers about the location of people in distress.
