FIELD: search and rescue in marine disasters. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to technique of location of responder beacon. Proposed method provides for and device realizes radiation of sound measurement signal by rescue craft fitted with several electroacoustic converters spaced apart. Reply signal is emitted by radio transmitter located on rescued craft, is received on board the rescue craft by receiver. Location of rescued craft with display of its coordinates relative to rescue craft's hull lines displayed on indicator is determined by assemblage of received reply signals with due account of their rate of propagation. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of determination of coordinates of small- sized rescue craft in conditions of limited visibility. 2 cl, 6 dwg
