FIELD: rescue operations.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of performing search and rescue operations using unmanned aerial systems. Method of performing search and rescue operations involves launching, before launching an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), via radio channel, coordinates of search object – SO (in particular, victim or group of victims) read from located on SO emergency communication unit (GPS-tracker), state estimation SO, flight trajectory formation UAV into search area, determination of search boundaries, performing further search SO using television and infrared (IR) video camera with selection SO by means of software based on a neural network with subsequent specification by an operator. Emergency communication unit (GPS-tracker) can be equipped with an inflatable search reference point equipped with a light coherent radiator and lifted to the specified height. Method, if necessary, implies retransmission of data through a communication network and on-board retransmitters of other UAV. When detected SO in area of additional search for operator's ground control station (GCS) receives video information about SO, degree of its activity. Operator GCS via radio channel sends to UAV command for discharge (or delivery) of payload, namely means of individual use (water, provisions, clothes, matches, personal protective equipment, medicines, mobile telephone, signal smoke cartridge for orientation of rescue groups, etc.).

EFFECT: reduced duration and improved quality of search and rescue operations.
