FIELD: human vital needs satisfaction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an absorbent core (3) for application in an absorbent article, such as a pad attached to underwear. The core (3) comprises absorbent material and superabsorbent material. The core (3) has the first length in longitudinal direction and the second length in transverse direction, and the core has a longitudinal center line (A), which passes through the core and is located between the first longitudinal part (I) and the second longitudinal part (II). The first and second longitudinal parts (I; II) are symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal center line (A). The core has a front portion (a1), an intermediate portion (a2) and a rear portion (a3) extending in the longitudinal direction of the core. The front portion (a1) includes the mirror-opposed first circular segment portions (11; 11') and the first edge lines (13; 13') to which the circular segment portions (11; 11') transfer. The intermediate portion (a2) includes the mirror-opposed first convex edge portions (15; 15'). The rear portion (a3) includes the second edge lines (17; 17') that converge towards the rear end (T5) and the center line (A) of the core, forming an angle (γ).
EFFECT: improved absorbency.
