FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to welding engineering and can be used for welding at open sites. Device comprises burner (1) with a pack of fine-mesh screens and a confuser nozzle, feeder (2) for an electrode wire, and a welding current source. To automatically adjust the rate of escape of shielding gas depending on the speed of incoming wind, ambient temperature, welding conditions, distance from the nozzle edge to the article, the device comprises wind speed sensor (3), two integrating amplifiers (4 and 5), memory (6), adder (13), two equalizer amplifiers (9 and 10), arc current sensor (8), photosensor (11), amplifier (12) with adjustable gain, ambient temperature sensor (7), protective gas escape rate regulator (14), shielding gas maximum escape rate setting device (18), AND (16) and NOT (17) logic elements.
EFFECT: higher quality of welding at open sites.
