SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a wireless communication system implementing a Multimedia Broadcast and Multicast Service (MBMS). The invention, in particular, discloses methods for managing faults in the tail part of a user plane associated with a one-way MBMS channel. The fault detection time interval, associated with the one-way MBMS channel, can be set and monitored. Fault can be detected in response to a determination that the specified time interval has expired without receiving a synchronization packet. Mechanisms for detection, indication, localization and correction of faults of one-way MBMS channels are described.
