FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method of obtaining foam plastics used for the production of refrigerators and freezing devices, devices for heating or maintaining the required water temperature or their parts or for thermal insulation of buildings, vehicles, or devices, as well as a porous core of the combined materials of the "sandwich" type. The method involves converting components A-C in the presence of component D and, if necessary, component E. Component A uses at least one polyisocyanate component. 10 to 100 wt % of the said component is a polyimide-group-containing product of condensation of at least one polyisocyanate component with at least one polycarboxylic acid with at least three carboxyl groups per molecule or anhydride thereof. The quantitative content of component A is from 35 to 65 wt %. As component B, at least one polyol component is used in an amount of from 5 to 50 wt %. Component C is at least one polycarboxylic acid in an amount of 1 to 59 wt %. Component D is from 0.01 to 3 wt % of at least one Lewis D base and component E is at least one foam stabiliser used in an amount of 0 to 5 wt %. The transformation is accompanied by the release of carbon dioxide.

EFFECT: foam plastics are obtained having a resistance to deformation at high temperatures in the presence of moisture or high compression efforts, as well as long-term persistence indicators of elasticity, abrasion resistance, tensile strength, strain strength, and residual deformation of the compression.
