SUBSTANCE: method for beverage dosing is implemented as follows. A tablet with beverage ingredients is inserted into the beverage preparation device. A sensor is used to measure a characteristic associated with the thickness of at least a part of the tablet between the recess base and the opposite outer side for identifying the tablet. One or more dosing parameters are configured on the beverage preparation device based on the tablet identification. The beverage preparation device is used for dosing a beverage obtained from the interaction of the tablet and a water-based liquid. Wherein the tablet comprises a recess on at least one outer surface. The beverage preparation device comprises a chamber for receiving a tablet with beverage ingredients, a reservoir for a water-based liquid or an external pressurized water source, a heater for changing the water-based liquid temperature, a sensor for measuring the characteristic associated with the thickness of at least part of the tablet used, a controller associated with the reservoir for the water-based liquid or the external pressurized water source, the heater, and the sensor. Said controller is programmed to identify the tablet based on the measurement of characteristics and the configuration of one or more dosing parameters on the device based on said identification, where the tablet used comprises a recess on at least one outer surface, and the sensor is configured to measure the characteristic associated with the tablet thickness between the recess base and the opposite outer side. The system comprises the beverage preparation device and the tablet with beverage ingredients, wherein the tablet comprises a recess on at least one outer surface.

EFFECT: group of inventions ensures the adjustment of the beverage dosing parameters according to the type of tablets, wherein an additional means for identifying the beverage ingredients is provided, since the recess measurement will allow the user to distinguish between different tablets having the same height but various recesses.
