SUBSTANCE: invention relates to improvements in machines for the preparation of beverages and food products and, in particular, relates to a machine in which to produce food or beverages a compressed tablet is used, it is inserted into the soaking chamber of the machine into which the liquid is directed to destroy or dissolve the tablet. In the method, the machine for preparing a beverage or food product from a compressed disc consisting of at least one ingredient comprises a sealed soaking chamber, wherein said soaking chamber comprises means for mounting the disc so that it can freely rotate about the central axis. Said machine further comprises at least one nozzle characterized by the presence of an outlet in the soaking chamber, which is arranged in such a way as to direct a jet of liquid to the peripheral edge of the disc installed in the soaking chamber.
