FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: target is designed for neutron generating device and includes: a metal substrate holding the target material; and a metal thin film for sealing, which holds the target material on the side of the holding surface X. The side of the holding surface X of the metal substrate includes: a frame part and a shaped structure including: a plurality of island parts, which are surrounded by the frame portion; and the remaining recessed portion, which is formed by reducing the thickness of the area which is not a frame and island part on the thickness of the target material. Thin metal film and the surfaces of the frame portion and the island portions are subjected to hot isostatic pressing (HIP) bonding for sealing of the target material on the recessed parts when using thin metal film.

EFFECT: extended service life of neutron-generating target, simplification of target design and possibility of target functioning under conditions of metallic lithium heating.
