FIELD: paper sheets processing device.
SUBSTANCE: paper sheet processing device includes an insertion slot into which a banknote is inserted, a transportation mechanism which transports the paper sheet inserted through the insertion seat, and a correcting element having a resilient deformation portion intended to contact the paper sheet inserted into the insertion seat, and corrects the direction of transport of the paper sheet inserted through the insertion seat using the resilience of the elastic deformation portion. Correcting element is located at least at both ends in transverse direction of socket for insertion along surface of banknote inserted into socket for insertion, or in positions on transportation line for paper sheet inserted through insertion socket facing ends in transverse direction of socket for insertion.
EFFECT: disclosed is a paper sheet processing device and a foreign object detecting method.
