SUBSTANCE: at least one acoustic sensor is placed in the pipeline connected to the flowmeter; acoustic information is collected from the flowing fluid in the mentioned pipeline by means of the mentioned acoustic sensor; a change in the flow state in the flowing fluid is detected using the mentioned acoustic information; the mentioned change in the flow state is indicated; it is determined that the change in the flow state is a deviation of the normal state of the fluid flow; the operator is warned about the mentioned deviation; and the damage to the component connected to the flowmeter is determined.

EFFECT: increasing accuracy of measuring the fluid flow rate, identifying operational problems.
